Pyrite on Agate Ring, size 14
Pyrite on Agate Ring
Slide this raw ring onto your finger, where the deep green-black base of agate meets the metallic gleam of pyrite. It looks remarkably substantial on the hand, while its cool surface naturally adapts to the skin. Light reflects off the geometric crystals, bringing out their raw, golden sheen. This design is based on the contrast between a matte base and gleaming accents. Every movement of your hand reveals a different mineral structure.

About the stone
This specimen is a natural intergrowth of layered agate, a variety of chalcedony, and cubic pyrite crystals (iron sulfide). This structure forms in rock cavities, where the two minerals crystallize successively. The dark green-black agate base provides a backdrop for the metallic, golden sheen of the crystals. The arrangement of pyrite is always different — no two stones from the same piece of rock ever look identical. You can find more information in the Pyrite — fool’s gold article on our blog.
Care
Because it contains pyrite, avoid contact between the ring and water or moisture. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of your jewelry box.
