Gold-Plated Rock Crystal Drop Earrings

Drop earrings featuring rock crystal from Brazil; each stone measures approximately 2.5 × 1.5 cm. Gold-plated brass encases the upper part of each crystal near the ear wire, leaving the rest exposed. The crystals are transparent, with long points ending in sharp, multifaceted tips. One earring has a second, shorter point beside the main one. The stones shown in the photos are the exact pair we will send. The stones in the pair differ in shape.

About the stone

This transparent stone, which you can see right through, is rock crystal—the purest variety of quartz. Its crystals grow at temperatures between 100 and 400°C. The ancient Greeks believed it was ice that had frozen forever. Learn more in the article Rock Crystal — Properties on our blog.

Care

Put the earrings on after styling your hair and applying hairspray, and take them off before bed. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth; do not use a silver polishing cloth or polishing paste. Clean the crystals with a dry, soft brush. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if your claim is accepted, we will replate the earrings. The plating can also be refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewelry box.
