Tiger’s eye ring, size 13
Tiger's Eye Ring
Rotate it under a lamp, and the bright streak in the tiger's eye will move from one side of the band to the other - the simplest way to see how this stone differs from ordinary brown quartz. Size 13, a mineral from Brazil, a band made from a single piece, polished smooth. The color is warm brown with golden bands; in diffused light, the bands are subtle, while under focused light, they come alive.

About the stone
Tiger's eye is a mineralogical variety of quartz formed through a process of pseudomorphism. The original fibrous crocidolite minerals were gradually replaced by silica, while retaining the parallel arrangement of the fibers. This microscopic structure is responsible for the chatoyancy effect, or cat's-eye phenomenon, visible after polishing. The main deposits of this opaque mineral are found in South Africa, Australia, and Brazil. Learn more in the article Tiger's Eye - Properties and History on our blog.
Care
Wipe the stone only with a soft, slightly damp cloth without detergents. Avoid strong impacts, as the solid piece may crack. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of a jewelry box.
