Tiger’s eye ring, size 12
Tiger's eye ring
Size 12 ring carved from a single block of tiger's eye from Brazil. The bright streak on the band lies beneath the polished surface, within the stone's fibrous structure, and therefore moves as the angle of the light changes - when you turn your hand, it travels from the side to the top and back again. Brown-gold bands run around the entire circumference. The polished surface is smooth and cool only on first touch.

About the stone
Tiger's eye is a variety of quartz formed through a pseudomorphosis process after fibrous crocidolite. The mineral's original fibers were replaced by silica while preserving their parallel arrangement. This microscopic structure is responsible for the chatoyancy effect, an optical phenomenon resembling a cat's eye. The most important deposits of this opaque mineral are mined in South Africa, Australia, and Brazil. Read more in the article Tiger's eye - properties and history on our blog.
Care
Clean the ring with a soft, slightly damp cloth without using harsh chemicals. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of a jewelry box.
