Gold-Plated Amethyst Ring

This Brazilian amethyst ring is size 16 and measures approximately 1.5 × 2.5 cm overall. A gold-plated band wraps around the front of the ring at the base of the crystals, leaving the crystal tips and the rest of the stone setting exposed. The densely clustered crystals are a light lavender purple, deepening in color at some of the tips. A whitish, crystalline layer is visible behind the cluster, and beyond a thin white stripe is the smooth, grayish-lilac back of the setting. The setting is made of stone, so its size cannot be changed. The stone shown in the photos is the exact one we will send.

About the stone

Amethyst has a deep purple color with natural variations in tone. Its color comes from iron, and the stone itself is a variety of quartz that forms in basalt geodes. Amethyst has been one of the most prized gemstones since ancient times. Learn more in the article Amethyst — Properties and History on our blog.

Care

After an evening out, take off the ring before removing your makeup, and in the morning, put it on only once your hands are dry. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth, without using a silver polishing cloth or polishing paste. Clean the crystals with a dry, soft brush. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if a claim is approved, we will re-plate the ring. The plating can also be refreshed later in our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in your jewelry box.
