Gold-Plated Aquamarine Ring

This aquamarine ring from Brazil is size 19 and measures approximately 2.5 × 2 cm overall. The top of the ring is a flat-cut face of the stone, with a gold-plated band around its sides; the rest of the band is left exposed. This aquamarine is very light, milky white with a cool blue-green hue. Tiny rusty and gray speckles are visible in the lower-left corner of the nearly rectangular face. The band is made of stone, so its size cannot be adjusted. The stone shown in the photos is the exact one we will ship.

About the stone

Aquamarine crystals grow in granite pegmatites. In terms of composition, it is a variety of beryl in which iron is responsible for the color. It gives the stone its characteristic icy blue with a sea-green hue. Learn more in the article Aquamarine — properties on our blog.

Care

Remove the ring before washing dishes, going to the gym, or gardening, and put it back on with dry hands. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth, not a silver-polishing cloth or polishing paste. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if your claim is accepted, we will replate the ring. You can also have the plating refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewelry box.
