Gold-Plated Aquamarine Ring

This Brazilian aquamarine ring is size 11 and measures approximately 2 × 2.5 cm overall. The top of the ring features a flat-cut face of the stone, bordered along its sides by a gold-plated band; the rest of the setting is left exposed. The stone is a light, cool blue with a sea-green tint. Lighter, almost white streaks run through it, with one crossing the top diagonally. The setting is made of stone, so the size cannot be adjusted. The stone shown in the photos is the one we will send.

About the stone

Aquamarine is a variety of beryl, and its color comes from iron. Its crystals grow in granite pegmatites. Iron gives it a color best described as icy blue with a sea-green tint. Learn more in the Aquamarine — properties article on our blog.

Care

Take the ring off when washing dishes, hand-washing clothes, or working with cleaning products. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth, without using a silver polishing cloth or polishing compounds. The gold plating comes with a one-year warranty: if a claim is approved, we will replate the ring. The plating can also be refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store it in a soft pouch or in a separate compartment of your jewelry box.
