Gilded Necklace with Raw Pyrite
The stone in the pendant is raw pyrite from Peru, measuring approximately 2.5 × 2.5 cm. A gilded prong basket holds the pyrite, with prongs embracing its sides while leaving the crystal-covered top exposed. The crystals are large and rounded, each with several small facets, so as the pendant sways, the light dances from one to another. A wide, flat facet along the bottom edge catches the light most brightly. The stone shown in the photos is the exact one we’ll send.

About the stone
The name “fool’s gold” stuck to pyrite because of its intense metallic sheen. This iron sulfide forms perfectly geometric crystals — cubes and pentagonal dodecahedra — with a metallic golden luster. Read more in Pyrite — Fool’s Gold on our blog.
Care
It’s best to leave this necklace at home when going to the gym or sauna, or when cleaning with detergents. Clean the gilded surface with a soft cloth, without using a silver polishing cloth or polishing compounds. Remove pyrite jewelry before bathing or swimming. The gilding is covered by a one-year warranty: if a claim is approved, we will re-gild the pendant (the warranty does not cover the chain). The gilding can also be refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in your jewelry box.
