Raw Pyrite Necklace, Gold-Plated
The stone in the pendant is raw pyrite from Peru, measuring approximately 3 × 2 cm. A gold-plated basket setting with prongs holds the pyrite, wrapping around its sides while leaving the crystal-covered top exposed. The small, tightly packed crystals are light in color with a metallic golden sheen, rising into a taller cluster at the narrower end of the teardrop. The sides of the stone are matte, gray, and grainy. The stone shown in the photos is the exact piece we’ll send.

About the stone
Pyrite owes its nickname, “fool’s gold,” to its intense metallic sheen. Chemically, it is iron sulfide, which forms perfectly geometric crystals — cubes and pentagonal dodecahedra. The faces of these crystals have a metallic golden luster. Learn more in the article Pyrite — fool’s gold on our blog.
Care
Take off the necklace and set it aside before bed, exercising, or cleaning. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth, without using a silver polishing cloth or polishing paste. Remove pyrite jewelry before bathing or swimming. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if a claim is accepted, we will re-plate the pendant (the warranty does not cover the chain). The plating can also be refreshed later at our studio — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewelry box.
