Oval Pyrite Drop Earrings, Gold-Plated
This pair of drop earrings with post backs features two raw pyrite stones from Peru, each measuring approximately 1.5 × 1 cm. Each pyrite specimen is held in a gold-plated prong setting, leaving the crystal-covered top exposed. The pyrite crystals in these ovals are large and angular, with a metallic golden sheen and fine striations on their flat faces. A smoother, gray side of the stone is visible along the edge of each oval. The stones shown in the photos are the exact ones we will ship.

About the stone
Pyrite's metallic luster has a golden hue, and its crystals have a cubic structure. Its shine is so intense that pyrite is commonly called “fool's gold.” Chemically, it is iron sulfide, which grows in specimens with regular geometric shapes — cubes or pentagonal dodecahedra. Care
Remove the earrings at night and for exercise, and put them on only after your lotion and perfume have dried. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth; do not use a silver polishing cloth or polishing paste. Remove pyrite jewelry before bathing or swimming. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if a claim is approved, we will re-plate the earrings. The plating can also be refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in your jewelry box.
