Oval Pyrite Drop Earrings, Gold-Plated
Drop earrings with post backs, featuring raw pyrite from Peru; each stone measures approximately 1.5 × 1 cm. Each pyrite piece is held in a gold-plated prong basket, leaving the crystal-covered top exposed. As the earring turns, the shine shifts from one mirror-like face of the pyrite to another. In one oval, the crystals rise into a rounded mound, while in the other they lie flat and close together. The stone shown in the photos is the exact piece we will ship.

About the Stone
“Fool’s gold” is a common name for pyrite, inspired by its intense metallic luster. It is iron sulfide, whose crystals form cubes or pentagonal dodecahedra with a highly regular geometric structure. Find out more in the article Pyrite — Fool’s Gold on our blog.
Care
Apply hairspray and cream before putting on the earrings, and take them off before cleaning or going to the gym. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth; do not use a silver polishing cloth or polishing compounds. Remove pyrite jewelry before bathing or swimming. The gold plating comes with a one-year warranty: if your claim is accepted, we will replate the earrings. The plating can also be refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewelry box.
