Pear-shaped Pyrite Drop Earrings, Gold-Plated
Each stone in this pair of stud-fastening drop earrings is a raw pyrite specimen from Peru, measuring approximately 1.5 × 1.5 cm. Each pyrite piece is held in a gold-plated prong basket, leaving the crystal-covered top exposed. The glittering crystals have a metallic golden sheen, while matte gray areas of fine-grained material lie between them. On each pear-shaped stone, this area covers a different part. The stone shown in the photos is the exact one we will send.

About the stone
Pyrite has a metallic golden sheen, and its crystals have a cubic structure. This intense luster earned it the name “fool’s gold.” In terms of composition, it is iron sulfide, which forms geometric cubes and pentagonal dodecahedra. Learn more in the article Pyrite — Fool’s Gold on our blog.
Care
Apply lotion and perfume beforehand, and put on the earrings once they have been absorbed. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth, not a silver-polishing cloth or polishing paste. Remove pyrite jewelry before bathing or swimming. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if a claim is approved, we will replate the earrings. The plating can also be refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewelry box.
