Gold-plated rock crystal drop earrings

Drop earrings with rock crystal from Brazil; each stone measures approximately 2.5 × 1.5 cm. Gold-plated brass encases the upper part of each crystal near the hook, leaving the rest exposed. The crystals are angular, with flat faces and sharp edges, and small crystal points protrude along the edges. The stone shown in the photos is the exact piece we will ship. The stones in the pair differ in shape.

About the stone

In the quartz family, rock crystal is the purest variety. Its transparent crystals form at temperatures between 100 and 400°C. The ancient Greeks believed it was ice that had frozen for eternity and would never thaw. Learn more in the article Rock Crystal — Properties on our blog.

Care

Remove the earrings before bathing, swimming, or using a sauna, and put them back on once your skin is dry. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth; do not use a silver polishing cloth or polishing compounds. Clean the crystals with a dry, soft brush. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if your claim is approved, we will replate the earrings. The plating can also be refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewelry box.
