Gold-Plated Drop Earrings with Clear Quartz

This pair of drop earrings features two stones—Brazilian clear quartz, each measuring approximately 2.5 × 1.5 cm. Gold-plated brass wraps around the top of each crystal near the ear wire, leaving the rest of the stones exposed. The pieces are solid, white, and transparent, with a frosted surface of tiny crystals that sparkle as the earrings turn. One of them has a longer point with a sharp tip lying across it. The stone shown in the photos is the exact piece we will send. The stones in the pair differ in shape.

About the stone

The ancient Greeks believed clear quartz was ice that had frozen forever. However, the stone forms in warmth: it crystallizes at temperatures between 100 and 400°C. It is the purest variety of quartz, and its crystals are transparent. Learn more in the article Clear Quartz—Properties on our blog.

Care

Apply makeup, perfume, and hairspray first, and put your earrings on last. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth; do not use a silver polishing cloth or polishing compounds. Clean the crystals with a dry, soft brush. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if a claim is approved, we will replate the earrings. The plating can also be refreshed later at our workshop—please contact the boutique for pricing and timing. Store in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in your jewelry box.
