Gold-Plated Stud Earrings with Multicolored Agate

Each stone in this pair of stud earrings is a Brazilian agate measuring approximately 1 × 1 cm. Gold-plated brass surrounds the edge and back of each round druzy, leaving the tiny crystals at the front exposed. One stone is gray, with larger crystals that have a glassy sheen; the other is pinkish brown, with fine, densely packed grains. A lighter streak runs through the center of the gray stone, while the pinkish-brown one has an even color. The stone shown in the photos is the exact one we will send.

About the stone

Chalcedony, which makes up agate, forms in volcanic rocks in layers arranged concentrically around a central point. The individual layers vary in color and create patterns, and the pattern differs in every stone. Find out more in the article Agate — Properties and Varieties on our blog.

Care

Take off your earrings before exercising, using the sauna, or swimming, and put them on again afterward. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth, not a silver polishing cloth or polishing paste. Clean the crystals with a dry, soft brush. Keep the jewelry away from alcohol, solvents, and prolonged exposure to strong sunlight. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if a claim is approved, we will replate the earrings. The plating can also be refreshed later at our workshop - the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store them in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewelry box.
