Piotr means “stone,” so a stone gift is the perfect choice for his autumn name day on October 18 and 19. Our volcanic lava bracelet costs PLN 55, while the matte tiger’s eye bracelet we recommend for beginners costs PLN 100.
- When: Sunday, October 18, and Monday, October 19. Piotr’s main name day is celebrated on June 29.
- Stretch bracelets: made with lava, lava and sodalite, or tiger’s eye, in sizes S, M, and L.
- No size needed: a kyanite specimen for his desk for PLN 249 or a necklace of rough black tourmaline pieces for PLN 299, slipped over the head.
- For Monday: a package ordered over the weekend won’t arrive in time, but the Warsaw boutique is open on Monday. If you don’t want to leave home, there’s a gift card starting at PLN 50, sent by email straight to Piotr.
Matte tiger’s eye bracelet: PLN 100
We recommend it for beginners because the matte 8 mm beads don’t shine, so the bracelet also suits someone who has only ever worn a watch. You can see honey and dark brown stripes on them, and one of the beads is black. Tiger’s eye is a variety of quartz with fibrous inclusions aligned in one direction. In polished stone, a lustrous band moves across them, while the matte finish softens the shine and leaves only the striped pattern.
The bracelet is strung on jewelry elastic and comes in three sizes: S for a wrist circumference of 16–17 cm, M for 17–18 cm, and L for 18–20 cm. If you don’t know Piotr’s wrist circumference, fasten his watch at the hole he uses and measure the strap’s circumference from the inside with a thread. You can also enter the measurement in the order comments, and we’ll choose the right size. We show you how step by step in our bracelet sizing guide.
Volcanic Lava Bracelet: PLN 55
This gift is closest to the meaning of the name. Once cooled, lava becomes rock, and the Greek word for rock is petra, from which the name Piotr comes. The beads are 6 mm, black and porous, with tiny holes across the entire surface. The sizes are the same as for tiger’s eye: S, M, or L, on elastic.
Lava and Sodalite Bracelet: PLN 100
The same black lava beads, with a flat piece of sodalite in the center, marked with rusty spots and set between two silver-colored cubes. Sodalite is a blue mineral, and this piece is very dark navy with a purple hue. We make this bracelet by hand in Warsaw, in the same sizes, S, M, and L. This is the version for Piotr, who wants one colorful stone with his black beads.
Kyanite Desk Specimen: PLN 249
For Piotr, who doesn’t wear jewelry. This is a one-of-a-kind specimen from Brazil, so the photos in the shop show exactly the stone Piotr will receive: blue, flat crystal blades intergrown with white. It is 11 cm tall, 16 cm on the black metal stand, and weighs 344 g.
Kyanite forms in metamorphic rocks under high pressure. Its former name, disthene, comes from the Greek words for “twice” and “strength,” because the stone has two hardnesses: around 4–5 on the Mohs scale along the crystals, and 6–7 across them.
Black Tourmaline Nugget Necklace: PLN 299
Matte, elongated nuggets of black tourmaline with visible crystal edges, strung with small gaps on a black cord. The necklace is approximately 70 cm long and has no clasp: it slips over the head, so there’s no need to choose a size. We make it by hand in our Warsaw workshop. Read more about this stone in our article about black tourmaline.

If the courier won’t make it by Monday
We process orders within 1–3 business days, and then the parcel still needs to arrive, so the courier won’t make it in time for Monday’s name day. The boutique on Grzybowska is closed on Sunday but open on Monday. Before you leave home, call during opening hours (listed in the box below), and we’ll check which items on this list are available in store. If you can’t get a parcel in time or make it to the boutique, buy a gift voucher: it’s a digital card that you can send to Piotr’s email address in the checkout form.
If your family is meeting for the name day only next weekend, October 24–25, it’s worth ordering the gift early in the week, as we count processing time in business days only. And if Piotr lives far from Warsaw, order it for delivery straight to his address. On his name day, call to wish him well and tell him the gift is already on its way. Until the end of Sunday, October 18, delivery in Poland is free, with no minimum order, but this offer can’t be combined with the discount code above.

Piotr’s autumn name days are associated with Saint Peter of Alcántara, a 16th-century Spanish Franciscan. He died on October 18, 1562, and Polish calendars commemorate him on October 19. Since 1826, he has been the patron saint of Brazil, and the kyanite specimen on this list comes from Brazil.
