The smoky quartz formation weighs 16.35 kg and is 38 cm wide; the gold stand raises it to a height of 60 cm. The mineral's smoky brown color is distinctly transparent - in daylight, the interior of the stone reveals warm, amber reflections, while individual, sharply pointed crystals can be seen up close. About the stone
Smoky quartz is a variety of silicon dioxide that owes its characteristic color to natural gamma radiation in the Earth's crust. The longer the mineral was exposed to this factor as the crystal grew, the deeper and darker the brown shade it developed. This specimen stands out for its smoky brown transparency with warm tones, formed over millions of years in the deep layers of the Earth.
