Tourmaline ring on a wedding band
Tourmaline Ring on a Band
Black-and-gold tourmaline on a gold-plated brass band, in an adjustable version. The ring is naturally asymmetrical: the Brazilian crystal has an irregular, ridged form and sits on the band like it is resting on a base. The elongated ridges catch the light on their raised surfaces and leave shadows in the grooves, making the black appear deeper than in polished stones. The band’s gold plating creates a warm contrast with the black and is enough to complete the entire look.

About the stone
Tourmaline is a mineral from the borosilicate group with a complex chemical composition. It crystallizes in pegmatites and metamorphic rocks, forming columnar crystals with characteristic longitudinal ridges and a glassy luster. It is known for an exceptionally rich range of colors - individual specimens may be zoned and change color along the length of the crystal. It is one of the most diverse and highly valued mineral groups in geology. Learn more in the article Tourmaline - properties, meaning, and varieties on our blog.
Care
Gold-plated brass does not tolerate contact with water and cosmetics well. Clean the ring only when dry, using a soft cloth. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of your jewelry box.
