Gold-plated rock crystal ring

This Brazilian rock crystal ring is size 14 and measures approximately 2 × 3 cm overall. A gold-plated band wraps around the front of the ring at the base of the crystals, while the crystal tips and the rest of the stone body remain exposed. The top forms a low, elongated cluster of small, closely fused crystals, with no single higher peak. As you turn the ring, tiny white flashes appear and disappear across their facets. The body is made of stone, so the size cannot be adjusted. The stone shown in the photos is the exact piece we will send.

About the stone

Rock crystal crystallizes at temperatures between 100 and 400°C. It is the purest variety of quartz, transparent all the way through. The ancient Greeks mistook it for ice that had frozen forever and would never melt. Learn more in the article Rock Crystal — Properties on our blog.

Care

Put the ring on last, after your cream, perfume, and hairspray have dried. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth, without using a silver polishing cloth or polishing paste. Clean the crystals with a dry, soft brush. The gold plating comes with a one-year warranty: if your claim is approved, we will replate the ring. You can also have the plating refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and timeframe. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in your jewelry box.
