Cut Tiger's Eye Heart Necklace
A polished heart-shaped tiger's eye from Brazil, set in gold-plated silver. A silky streak of light lies across the golden-brown surface - when the pendant is tilted, it moves across the heart like a reflection on silk, created by the mineral's fibrous structure. The stone is opaque and warm in color, echoed by the gold plating on the setting. On the 45 cm chain, the heart rests just below the collarbones.

About the stone
Tiger's eye is a variety of quartz formed through pseudomorphosis after fibrous crocidolite. The original fibers were replaced by silica while retaining their parallel arrangement. These microscopic fibers are responsible for the cat's-eye effect, or chatoyancy - a moving band of light visible as the stone is rotated. Care
