Raw Pyrite Necklace, Gold-Plated
Necklace featuring raw pyrite from Peru; the stone in the pendant measures approximately 3.5 × 2 cm. The pyrite specimen is held in a gold-plated basket setting with prongs that wrap around its sides, leaving the crystal-covered top exposed. The tightly intergrown cubic pyrite crystals have a metallic golden sheen and flat, mirror-like faces. The rectangular sides of the specimen are darker, grayish, and finely striated. The stone shown in the photos is the exact piece we will ship.

About the Stone
Pyrite cubes and pentagonal dodecahedra have perfectly geometric shapes that iron sulfide forms naturally during crystallization. Its metallic golden sheen and intense luster have earned pyrite the nickname “fool’s gold.” Learn more in the article Pyrite — Fool’s Gold on our blog.
Care
After applying perfume and cosmetics, wait a moment before fastening your pyrite necklace. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth, without using a silver polishing cloth or polishing pastes. Remove pyrite jewelry before bathing or swimming. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if a claim is accepted, we will re-plate the pendant (the warranty does not cover the chain). The gold plating can also be refreshed later in our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of a jewelry box.
