Gold-Plated Necklace with Raw Pyrite
The pendant on this necklace is a piece of raw pyrite from Peru, measuring approximately 3 × 2 cm. A gold-plated basket setting with prongs holds the pyrite in place, wrapping around its sides while leaving the crystal-covered top exposed. The top consists of large, flat crystal faces that flash with a metallic sheen one after another as the pendant turns. One of them, near the top of the teardrop, has a warmer, brownish hue. The stone shown in the photos is the exact piece we will send.

About the stone
Pyrite has a metallic, golden sheen and cubic crystals. Their faces are flat and their edges straight because the mineral forms perfectly geometric shapes: cubes and pentagonal dodecahedra. Chemically, pyrite is iron sulfide. Learn more in the article Pyrite — Fool’s Gold on our blog.
Care
Put the necklace on last, once your perfume and lotion have been absorbed. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth; do not use a silver polishing cloth or polishing compounds. Remove pyrite jewelry before bathing or swimming. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if a claim is accepted, we will replate the pendant (the warranty does not cover the chain). The plating can also be refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in your jewelry box.
