Larimar necklace, gold-plated 925 sterling silver
The stone in the pendant is larimar, measuring approximately 2 × 3 cm. The smoothly polished stone is set in a gold-plated 925 sterling silver setting that holds it around the edge and extends into a bail at the top. The larimar is a light, cool blue, fading in places into milky white, with a beige band and brown flecks along one edge. Its outline resembles a semicircle, and gentle waves and depressions are visible on the surface. The stone shown in the photos is the exact piece we will send.

About the stone
Larimar is found exclusively in the Dominican Republic, where it occurs in veins and cavities in altered basalt in the mountains above the village of Baoruco, in Barahona Province. In terms of composition, it is a blue variety of pectolite, a mineral in the wollastonite group, and its blue color comes from trace amounts of copper. It is opaque, and its compact, fibrous material takes a good polish.
Care
Take off the necklace before bed, sauna sessions, and workouts, and put it on only after your creams and perfume have absorbed. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth; do not use a silver polishing cloth or polishing compounds. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if a claim is accepted, we will re-plate the pendant (the chain is not covered by the warranty). The plating can also be refreshed later in our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewelry box.
