Larimar Necklace, Gold-Plated 925 Silver
The stone in this pendant is larimar, measuring approximately 3 × 1.5 cm. The smoothly polished stone is set in gold-plated 925 silver, which holds it around the edge and extends into a bail at the top. The oval is very elongated, with almost straight sides, and its blue lower section fades into a greenish shade with a few beige flecks. The convex, polished surface reflects the light with bright highlights. The stone shown in the photos is the exact one we will ship.

About the Stone
The only known location where larimar occurs is the Dominican Republic. It is found in cavities and veins of altered basalt in the mountains above the village of Baoruco, in Barahona Province. Mineralogically, it is blue pectolite, a mineral in the wollastonite group, with a compact, fibrous structure.
Care
Take off the necklace when cleaning, cooking, or gardening, and put it on after washing and drying your hands. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth; do not use a silver polishing cloth or polishing compounds. The gold plating is covered by a one-year warranty: if a claim is approved, we will re-plate the pendant (the warranty does not cover the chain). The plating can also be refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewelry box.
