Larimar Necklace, 925 Silver
The stone in the pendant is larimar, measuring approximately 1 × 1 cm. The smoothly polished stone is set in 925 silver, which holds it by the edge and extends into a bail at the top. The larimar is light blue, with a white web running across the entire oval and thickening into milky clouds in places. The stone is opaque, with an even sheen across its domed surface. The stone shown in the photos is the exact one we will send.

About the Stone
Larimar is a blue variety of pectolite, a mineral in the wollastonite group. It is found in only one country, the Dominican Republic, where it fills cavities and veins in altered basalt in the mountains above the village of Baoruco, in Barahona Province. Its compact, fibrous material takes a good polish, and its blue color comes from trace amounts of copper.
Care
After applying sunscreen, perfume, or hairspray, wait a moment before fastening the necklace. Silver darkens over time; you can wipe the setting with a silver polishing cloth, avoiding the stone. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewelry box.
