About the stone
Labradorite is a feldspar from the plagioclase series that forms in mafic igneous rocks. It owes its name to the Labrador Peninsula in Canada, where it was first discovered and described. This mineral is characterized by labradorescence—the interference of light on thin layers inside the crystal.
