Raw Blue Kyanite Necklace
Blue kyanite from Brazil in its simplest form: a raw, elongated crystal with no faceting, set in gold-plated silver. The fibers run along the stone and appear as light streaks against a blue background; when held up to the light, the crystal shows through in layers, like thin sheets stacked one on top of another. Up close, the surface has a pearly, slightly glassy sheen. 45 cm chain (42 + 3 cm extension), with 63 and 83 cm options available.

About the stone
Kyanite is an aluminum silicate formed in metamorphic rocks under high pressure. It is characterized by unusual, directional hardness - it is softer along the crystal axis than across it, hence its former name 'dysthen', meaning two strengths. It forms elongated, blade-like shapes with perfect cleavage and a pearly, glassy sheen, shimmering with cool shades of sapphire and blue.
Care
Due to kyanite's directional hardness and the silver plating, clean the necklace only with a dry, soft cloth, without detergents. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of a jewelry box.
