About the stone
Kyanite, also known by its historical name disthene, is an aluminium silicate formed under high pressure in metamorphic rocks. It is characterised by unusual, directional hardness—it is significantly softer along the crystal axis than across it. It forms flattened, blade-like and tabular shapes with perfect cleavage. Its colour ranges from cool blue to intense sapphire, with a pearly, vitreous lustre.

Due to kyanite’s cleavage, clean the piece dry using a soft cloth or a delicate brush. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of a jewellery box.
