Oval Pyrite Drop Earrings, Gold-Plated
This pair of drop earrings fastens with posts and features two raw pyrite stones from Peru, each measuring approximately 1.5 × 1 cm. Each pyrite specimen is held in a gold-plated claw basket setting, leaving the crystal-covered top exposed. The oval pyrite specimens have an uneven, crystalline surface with a metallic sheen. One stone is dominated by larger, flat-faced cubic crystals, while the other has a fine-grained, densely intergrown texture. The stone shown in the photos is the exact one we will ship.

About the stone
Cubic pyrite crystals gleam with a metallic, golden luster. This shine is so intense that pyrite has earned the nickname “fool’s gold.” Chemically, it is iron sulfide, and its crystals form geometric shapes such as cubes and pentagonal dodecahedra. Care
Take the earrings off before sleeping or exercising, and put them on after applying perfume and lotion. Clean the gold-plated surface with a soft cloth; do not use silver polishing cloths or polishing pastes. Remove pyrite jewelry before bathing or swimming. The gold plating comes with a one-year warranty: if your claim is approved, we will replate the earrings. The plating can also be refreshed later at our workshop — the boutique can provide the price and turnaround time. Store in a soft pouch or a separate compartment in a jewelry box.
