How this piece changes your living room

The crystals stand close together, each with a pointed tip. Their smooth faces reflect the lamp light in tiny flashes, so the reflections look different from the sofa than they do from the doorway.

In the upper right corner, you can see a light cream-colored crystal that identifies this specimen. With the stand, the brush is almost as tall as two A4 sheets of paper stacked on top of each other. The photo below shows it on the floor of the boutique, next to a crouching person.

The stand's supports hold the piece at the sides, underneath, and at the back. The black doesn't distract from the purple and goes well with black frames, lamps, or furniture handles.

Where to place an amethyst cluster

It weighs 21.3 kg, so it needs a sturdy, stable piece of furniture: a console or dresser against a wall, a low TV stand, or the bottom shelf of a solid bookcase. Check the furniture's weight capacity, place the entire base of the stand on a level surface, and choose a spot where no one will bump into it. On the floor beside a sofa or armchair, it stands like a low sculpture.

Don't place it on a windowsill or anywhere that gets strong sunlight for many hours. According to GIA, the American Gemological Institute, the color of some amethysts fades with prolonged exposure to intense light. GIA also advises against exposing amethyst to high temperatures, so don't place the cluster right next to a fireplace. Use a soft, dry brush to remove dust from the crystals.

The back is rock

The front has crystals, while the back is gray, rough rock. This is normal for natural clusters: the crystals grew in a cavity inside the rock, and the back of the piece is its outer side. From the side, you can also see light, whitish-gray layers along the edge.

That’s why the cluster looks best against a wall or on a shelf, with its front facing the room and its back against the wall.

For a smaller living room: black tourmalines on stands

They weigh from 1.7 to 2.1 kg, over ten times less than cluster No. 46.

See it in person

The cluster is on display in our Warsaw boutique, where we took the photos you see above. In person, you can see how the crystals catch the light as you view the piece from different angles.

How we verified this. We took the cluster’s dimensions, weight, origin and price from its listing in our store, checked on the night of Saturday, November 1, 2026. We checked the tourmalines’ weights in their product descriptions. We describe the front, side and back based on photos of the specimen taken in the boutique. The information that some amethysts may fade after prolonged exposure to intense light, and the recommendation to keep them away from high temperatures, comes from GIA (“Amethyst Care and Cleaning Guide”).
