If you need a 60 or 80 cm chain, choose the 1.2 mm ball chain: it’s the only one sold separately in 45, 60, and 80 cm, in silver from PLN 89 or gold-plated from PLN 99. The chain with beads, approx. 2 mm, is sold separately only in 45 cm + 3 cm, for PLN 99 in silver or PLN 129 in gold-plated silver. W a ball chain, the 1.2 mm beads run side by side along its entire length, while on a chain with beads, 2 mm refers to the diameter of the individual beads on a thin chain made of links.

The essentials in 30 seconds
  1. Thickness: the entire weave of the ball chain is made up of 1.2 mm beads. W a chain with beads, only the individual beads are approx. 2 mm in diameter.
  2. Length: the ball chain is sold separately in 45, 60, and 80 cm, while the chain with beads is available only in 45 cm + 3 cm.
  3. Metal: for a silver color, choose a ball chain in 925 silver or a chain with beads in silver. W a gold color, choose a gold-plated ball chain or a chain with beads in gold-plated silver.
  4. Chain loop: when buying a chain for a pendant you already own, check that the clasp will fit through the loop, and for a chain with beads, that the bead will fit too.

1.2 mm and 2 mm: what each number measures

W a ball chain, the stated thickness applies to the entire chain, including the middle section where the pendant hangs. W a chain with beads, the measurement applies only to the beads; we don’t specify the thickness of the chain between them.

1.2 mm ball chain: 45, 60, or 80 cm, from PLN 89

The ball chain without gold plating is made of 925 silver, and its beads are diamond-cut. It has an extender made of rings by the clasp, so you can adjust the length a little. Uncoated silver darkens over time, and you can remove the tarnish using household methods.

The gold-plated ball chain has the same weave and thickness. It's made of 925 silver plated with 24-karat gold. Choose it if you prefer a gold color, for example with a pendant in a gold-plated setting. The plating on the chain wears off over time because the chain rubs against your skin and clothes with every movement. That's why our one-year warranty on gold plating doesn't cover chains, including this beaded one.

Chain with beads approx. 2 mm: one length only, from PLN 99

Choose it if you like the individual little beads and don't need a longer chain. With the extender, it's no longer than 48 cm. When ordering, take care: the gold-plated version is selected by default on the chain page for PLN 129, even though the first photo shows the silver-colored chain. Choose the silver one for PLN 99 in the “Material” field.

Amethyst druzy pendant already on a chain: from PLN 206

If you don't have a pendant yet, the necklace with a chain included costs less than buying the pendant and chain separately. The necklace with an oval amethyst druzy from Brazil, in a silver setting, costs from PLN 207, while the necklace with an amethyst crystal cluster in a silver-colored setting costs from PLN 206. W both, you can choose one of three chain lengths, and each is a one-of-a-kind piece.

In the photos, the oval druzy hangs on a ball chain, and the crystal cluster on a beaded chain. Have a particular chain in mind? Ask the boutique which one comes with it. Already have your own chain, or want to wear the druzy on a gold-colored chain? Choose the version without a chain.

How to check whether a stone pendant will fit on a chain

You thread the pendant onto the chain from the end. So the clasp or the ring it fastens to must pass through the bail. A large clasp or thick ring may not fit through a narrow bail.

With a beaded chain, the beads also need to pass through the pendant’s loop; otherwise, the pendant won’t sit in the middle. So measure the loop opening: it must be larger than the bead, which is about 2 mm in diameter.

We don’t list clasp widths in our descriptions, so trying it on is the surest option. W At the boutique on Grzybowska, you can compare both chains side by side. If you already have a pendant, bring it with you.

Did you know?

“Diamond-cut” in a chain description does not mean diamonds. The metal is cut with a diamond-tipped tool, which leaves small flat facets on it. They reflect light like the facets of a cut stone, making this type of chain sparkle more.

How we checked. We took the ball chain’s thickness, bead diameter, lengths, materials, and prices from product pages on brazi.pl as of October 25, 2026, and describe the chains’ appearance, clasps, and both druses based on photos from those pages. We use the Skyjems jewelry encyclopedia and the description of US patent no. 5471830 as sources for the meaning of “diamond-cut,” and Mervis Diamond Importers’ jeweler’s guide for the note about a clasp that does not fit through an eyelet. According to Google Ads data (retrieved by DataForSEO on October 2, 2026), the phrase “silver chain” had 8,100 searches in October 2025 and 22,200 in December 2025.
