Stone rings - how to choose the right size?

Choosing the correct ring size is the basic step to having comfortable natural jewelry in which you will feel at ease.

In this text, I will present several factors that may affect our finger circumference, as well as how to measure its size.

Depending on which hand we plan to wear the ring on, the circumference will differ. Right-handed people will have a circumference at the fingers of the left hand that is roughly one size smaller than at the right hand. For left-handed people, the situation is exactly the opposite.

When measuring finger circumference, it is also important when we do it. In the morning it will be different than in the evening. During the day our hands react to temperature, so we will also feel differences depending on the season. In summer, when it is hot, fingers swell, while in winter they will be slimmer.

Another factor affecting ring size is the structure of the finger. It is important that people with a broad knuckle choose rings that slide onto the finger with slight resistance, so they can be sure it will not slip off during the day.

The above tips should help you fit your jewelry correctly. However, it should be remembered that our stone rings differ from those made of silver, gold, or other metals. Stone has its own structure and porosity; some of them “absorb” more water from the body (e.g. opalite). Jewelry made of stones is also more substantial, which makes it harder to measure the exact size. Its structure also affects wearing comfort, which is why polished rings (smoky quartz, rose quartz, amethyst, opalite, malachite, howlite, onyx) will be narrower, making them less noticeable on the finger and probably more comfortable. Rings from the exclusive collection (rock crystal, citrine, aquamarine, tourmaline, emerald) are heavier and more substantial than the others, so they will be more noticeable on the finger while being worn. Rings with crystals (agate, amethyst) are also comfortable to wear and very striking. The most accurate method of measuring size is definitely a visit to our showroom, where we will offer our help in professionally selecting jewelry and measure your finger with special sizing rings.

Stone rings - how to measure circumference

To choose the ideal ring size, you first need to measure the circumference of your finger. The easiest way is to use a tailor’s tape measure; wrap it around your finger so that it fits snugly, but does not squeeze us.

If, however, that option is not available, the easiest and most accessible method of measurement you can do at home is to wrap a string around the finger at its widest point and then measure its length precisely with a ruler. Remember not to pull the string too tightly; otherwise, the ring may turn out too small. The resulting number of millimeters is the circumference of the finger, based on which we choose the ring size.

On our website you will find a size chart that will help you find your size: SEE THE CHART

In most European countries, ring sizes range from 4 to 34, in England the alphabetical nomenclature from G to Z++ is used, while in the USA it is from 4 to 14 (the sizes have a wider range, and + and – are also used to emphasize a larger or smaller size, e.g. 4 + or 6 -).

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How do you measure your finger to choose the perfect ring and natural stone?

To properly measure your finger circumference, wrap it with a string or tailor’s tape measure at knuckle height (the widest point). Read the result in millimeters and compare it with our size chart. Remember that a flexible ring and a natural stone adapt more easily than rigid metal bands, which gives greater wearing comfort.

Which gemstones are the most popular choices in Brazi rings?

In our collection, unique minerals reign supreme. The most popular is agate stone (a symbol of harmony), energetic citrine stone, as well as deep amethyst stone and blue topaz stone. We set each of them on an elastic band, which makes choosing the size extremely easy.

Can I find natural stone bracelets at Brazi that match the rings?

Yes! Every bracelet with stones we make is designed to create cohesive sets with rings. Our natural stone bracelets have universal, adjustable sizes, making them a perfect gift idea with no risk of getting the size wrong.
