Tiger’s eye ring, size 17
Tiger’s Eye Ring
This size 17 tiger’s eye ring was cut from a single block of mineral. Its solid form displays a brown hue with golden tones. A silky, shifting streak of light—known as the cat’s-eye effect—is visible on the polished surface. The band sits securely on the finger, quickly taking on the warmth of the body. The natural arrangement of microscopic fibres creates a delicate, banded pattern. The whole piece draws the eye with its velvety sheen.

About the stone
Tiger’s eye is an opaque variety of quartz formed through the pseudomorphosis of fibrous crocidolite. The original mineral fibres were replaced by silica while retaining their parallel arrangement. This structure is responsible for chatoyancy, or the cat’s-eye effect, visible as a bright streak. The main deposits of this mineral are found in South Africa, Australia and Brazil.
