Tiger’s Eye Ring, Size

Cut from a piece of tiger’s eye, this ring showcases a deep brown-gold hue with a silky sheen. On its polished, convex surface, a moving band of light is visible, created by the mineral’s distinctive structure. The ring sits securely on the finger, while its warm color naturally complements the skin tone. In changing light, lighter honey tones come to the fore. The raw disc shape gives the whole piece a modern character.

About the stone

Tiger’s eye is a distinctive variety of quartz formed through a process of pseudomorphosis after fibrous crocidolite. The mineral’s original fibers were replaced by silica while retaining their parallel arrangement. These microscopic fibers are responsible for the cat’s-eye effect, known as chatoyancy—the characteristic band that moves as the stone is rotated. The main deposits of this mineral are found in South Africa, Australia, and Brazil. Learn more in the article Tiger’s Eye — Properties and History on our blog.

Care

Simply rinse the tiger’s eye ring with lukewarm water and wipe it with a soft cloth, avoiding strong detergents. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of your jewelry box.
