About the stone

Tourmaline belongs to a group of borosilicates with a highly variable chemical composition. It crystallizes in pegmatites and metamorphic rocks, forming one of the most color-diverse groups of minerals. It has a vitreous luster and characteristic longitudinal striations on its crystals. Individual specimens may be bicolored or zoned, allowing a single crystal to transition smoothly between colors along its entire length.
