Tourmaline Ring on a Band
Slip this ring onto your finger to see how the black-and-gold tourmaline pairs with gold-plated brass. The mineral’s dark, matte texture contrasts with the smooth band. About the stone
Tourmaline belongs to a group of borosilicates with a highly variable chemical composition. It crystallizes in pegmatites and metamorphic rocks, forming one of the most color-diverse groups of minerals. It has a vitreous luster and characteristic longitudinal striations on its crystals. Individual specimens may be bicolored or zoned, allowing a single crystal to transition smoothly between colors along its entire length. Care
Avoid contact with water and cosmetics to protect the brass’s gold-plated coating from wear. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of a jewelry box.
