About the stone
Emerald is the green variety of beryl, whose characteristic color comes from traces of chromium and vanadium. This glassy-luster mineral forms primarily in pegmatites and metamorphic zones. The world’s major deposits are located in Colombia, Brazil, and Zambia. A characteristic feature of emeralds is their internal inclusions, known in French as “jardin” (garden), which are natural evidence of the stone’s authenticity.
