About the stone
Kyanite is an aluminium silicate that forms in metamorphic rocks under high pressure. It develops distinctive, bladed crystals with pronounced cleavage. A mineralogical curiosity is its directional hardness—the crystal is significantly softer along its axis than across it. For this reason, it was once called disthene, meaning “two strengths.”
Care
Due to kyanite’s variable hardness and the gold plating, clean the necklace only with a dry, soft cloth, avoiding contact with water. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of a jewellery box.
