About the stone
Kyanite, formerly known as disthene, is an aluminum silicate formed in metamorphic rocks under high pressure. It forms characteristic bladed or columnar crystals with perfect cleavage in one direction. This mineral is distinguished by its unique directional hardness—it is significantly softer along the crystal axis than across it, which explains its historical name meaning “two forces.”
Care
Due to the kyanite’s cleavage and the gold-plated silver, clean the necklace only with a dry, soft cloth, avoiding water and detergents. Store it in a soft pouch or a separate compartment of a jewelry box.
